About
I began my obsession with photography at a very early age. A friend of the family, who was a professional photographer and tired of constantly shooing me away from his expensive gear, gifted me with an old brownie camera. Thus a life-long passion was born.
I grew up in Maine, and I am currently based in Chandler, Arizona. I travel back to the east coast as often as I can, and I also “play tourist” in my home state. My husband and I especially enjoy driving up to Sedona and Flagstaff on the weekends.
These days I shoot exclusively with a Canon Digital SLR and associated gear. All photos are edited using the latest version of Photoshop. Any photographic gear that I am required to rent is sourced exclusively through Pro Photo Rental, who can’t be beat for quality and service.
In addition to photography, I am a freelance writer. I write about photography at Beyond Megapixels, and I am a travel writer for UpTake.
I designed and maintain the website for the Sandstone Cafe in Chandler, AZ (as well as provide the photography for their events), and also designed and maintain the website for Olson’s Pro Cleaning, in Phoenix, AZ.
I have a personal website, from which the brand name “Snerkology” was born. My original tagline explained that “snerk” is a cross between a snort and a smirk, and “Snerkology” is the study of those things which cause amusement, disgust, derision, or disbelief. The name stuck and has become my trademark. It’s often amusing, and sometimes a little confusing, to try to explain this when folks ask me, “What the heck does Snerkology mean?”
I am truly blessed that I am able to combine two of my greatest joys – writing and photography – in a manner that helps support my family. I wish that everyone could be so lucky to have a profession they’re passionate about.
I have gathered a collection of photographs that I am especially proud of; they are for sale at my ImageKind shop:

Thank you very much for visiting!
